Pediatric and Preventive Dentistry
The department of Pediatric and Preventive Dentistry is one of the most active and enthusiastic department functioning to provide quality education and training in the practice, treatment, and research in preventive and therapeutic oral health care for children from birth through adolescence including those with special health care needs. The department also has extension activities with two rural satellite centers and one urban center focusing on oral health care for children with special health needs at the District Early Intervention Centre, Wenlock. The department is well equipped with the latest instruments and equipments. It is recognized for its achievements in the field of research, focusing on research thrust areas like special health care needs, trauma and cariology; thus setting a benchmark with 139 publications and 7 externally funded research projects to its credit.
